Damn, I can't wait to be able to afford a bag...
So my night wasn’t all that bad,
I’m still a pretentious loser, but hey! that’s better than the average loser, at least I have some kind of code of ethics.
BTW- I drank draught PBRs and finished reading Do Good Design by David Berman … and I’m working on my code of ethics. that’s some inspiring shit!
Ugh. I am a pretentious loser.
Contemplating going to the bar where I know people that work, by myself … on a Friday night.
My roomate and everyone I know on campus is heading to Axis, and though I don’t have anything against the gay bar, I seriously can’t dance to “Tonight’s gonna be a good night” again, been there done that and to enjoy myself doing that I would have to get incredibly...
I really don't care how much I get called hipster...
I LOVE WAKING UP AND PUTTING ON ONE OF MY FAVORITE RECORDS AND HEARING THE CRACKLE AND STATIC AND W A R M T H RESONATING THROUGH MY ROOM.

It is starting to feel good . . .
to be completely overwhelmed with work. I know I am becoming a nerd because I am excited to do things my classmates are retching over.
Next week I have a complete digital illustration, 40 elements/vocab word illustration designs, 8 insanely complicated body type font tracings— and I’m amped on all of it.
I’m beginning to think I may be more cut out for this career path than I...
there are so many brilliant tumblr names out...
I think the names are my favorite part.
So I'm in my Design for Social Impact class right...
Our professor told us to “show or demonstrate impact.”
My partner and I tied and barred the exits to the building.
I know I'm way late on this one,
but I just watched “No Country for Old Men.”
pretty damn good. pretty damn good.

What will happen when they figure out that movies, music, books, paintings and even comic strips have mind altering properties.

Campus is eerie
As my school’s campus consists primarily of commuter students, Saturdays and Sundays have a ghosttown quality that is kind of odd. I really enjoy it. It’s so quiet, there is no one walking around campus. Literally one or two people, mostly going to their cars or back to their dorm. I guess if I went to the sports fields I might find people at practice or whatever, but on my walk to the...
Do I want a graphic design job anyway?
Just tallied up the crap I really ought to get over the next year:
1 Adobe Creative Suite 3 - 400 bucks (student price)
1 Fonts Pkg. - 150 bucks (student price, after school= 3,000 bucks)
1 Drawing tablet - 70 bucks
1 MacBook Pro - 1,400 bucks (student price)
Screen printing stuff.
I can’t work for clients designing things for their brochures or advertisements that make people feel...
Sweatin' at Axis = a success
welp . . .
I’m out of class till 1pm on Monday … and I have no idea what to do. Funk.
Upon further review . . .
I don’t regret spending 10+ hours on my first design project. Having labored over 120 circle and line compositions for 20 vocab words with a mechanical pencil and compass I was pretty pissed when I found out they only needed to be freehand sketches and could have been done in 2 hours.
Oh well, I figure this way I will be prepared to put the hours in when the projects start getting real ....
Of course.
the second after I go on a record shopping spree, a bunch of stuff I was looking for gets printed.
The entire The Books catalogue is out on vinyl now!
There's something about ordering a record from the...
It seems when you order directly from a label, at least with smaller labels
(*cough* Constellation Records, Dischord Records, Graveface Records, FAT Wreck Chords *cough, cough*)
you always get a nice added touch. Sometimes it’s melted plastic vampire teeth, sometimes it’s a poster. Today my copy of the newest Do Make Say Think record, Other Truths, came in the mail and inside it was...
Beautiful Losers
Is my whip!
Sooo motivating.
These people are all heroes of mine, and here is an hour and a half of them all together.
I seriously don’t even know what words to use to describe my elation over the fact that this documentary companion to the book exists. I want to watch it right now, but if I do I will be up all night amped on art.

wow, it’s been a brain dead break.
well, that’s not entirely true. It is partly true. We got a few good jams in. Should I feel bad about having slacked off for three weeks? Would it really be worth it? Is putting my nose to the grindstone for this semester enough of an excuse?
This is an odd funk.
Waiting for the tidal wave of projects to descend upon me. But in the way one anticipates the upcoming rapids when rafting, a fastball when up at bat, the crescendo in a free-form jam, their favorite show during the adult swim hours, the perfect time to crack a joke, or a bunch of school projects at the same time, orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr some other metaphor.
Now that I am an entirely broke college student,
I’m finally taking on my quest to support the bands that I enjoy. If I’ve downloaded it and been obsessed with it for at least a month, I’m going to damn well buy it, on vinyl!
Some may say this is the final stage in my metamorphosis into hipster scum, to them I say, “pssh, you don’t own Person Pitch on vinyl, why would I care what you think!”
